Virtual Shipyard

M SHIP uses its unique Virtual Shipyard approach to supervise and manage state-of-the-art composite construction projects from a distributed manufacturing base to lower production risk, increase speed-to-market and provide continuous improvement.

The Virtual Shipyard is a manufacturing process that integrates a network of specialized facilities into a holistic and cost-effective ship construction effort. The shipbuilding process requires advanced capabilities in the areas of composite construction and complex interdependent onboard systems, including ballistic protection, electronics, propulsion and weaponry. No one facility can possesses the expertise and/or adapt to the rapidly evolving technology to build these ships in a cost-effective and timely manner.

The Virtual Shipyard model capitalizes on the expertise of existing yards that specialize in different aspects of vessel construction providing the flexibility and agility to respond to changing conditions more quickly than a conventional shipyard. Over the life of a project, it speeds up production and reduces costs.
