M Hull = Multiple Configurations
M Ship Co. has designed a family of M-hull vessels to qualify for the full range of missions contemplated for operations in littoral or coastal zone, ranging from small unmanned sea surface vehicles (USSV) to large combat ships.
These designs will offer significant advantages over conventional displacement or planing craft based on the U.S. military's new littoral, brown-water missions, where efficiency, low cost, innovation, higher payload fraction, agility, shock mitigation, shallow draft and stealth are the new priorities for the next-generation naval craft.
Because the M-hull’s performance had been tested and proven, these concept boats have the potential to perform exceptionally well in a variety of applications. The company has received positive feedback from military organizations and intends to take several concept designs to production in the near future.
Examples of these concept vessels include:
Riverine Patrol Craft
Because of its limited draft, this design is perfectly suited for work in shallow waters to support U.S. forces in riverine missions, a major focus of the 21st Century Navy.
SK40
A 40-foot manned or unmanned vehicle capable of mission-specific modular payloads for launch, retrieval, and command and control of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and advanced unmanned marine vehicles (UMVs). M Ship’s non-conventional hull forms will integrate mission specific packages focusing on modularity, open architecture and flexibility.
M120 Littoral
A fast, highly-maneuverable ship that features an extremely shallow draft for patrol and interdiction operations in littoral areas. The ship uses the patented Tri M-Hull, originally developed as a low-wake design for commercial passenger service, to achieve unprecedented speed and ride quality while preserving stability and large payload capabilities. Powered by two gas-turbine engines, it has maximum boat speed in excess of 55 knots and a fuel-efficient cruising speed of 30 knots.
M40 Coast Guard
Uses the patented M-hull to provide high-speed, low-wash capabilities for homeland security in restricted waterways without compromising offshore ride quality.
