MSHIPCO of San Diego, delivers innovative and cost effective solutions to the maritime industry. As creator of the “M80 Stiletto” (Time Magazine’s Best Innovation for 2006) which employs MSHIPCO’s proprietary M-hull technology, its designs have redefined naval military movement on the water.
A technology-rich innovator with more than a dozen patents, MSHIPCO has a history of significant military and commercial marine applications, including the integration of unmanned systems into marine platforms. Additional naval defense initiatives include self-turning auto pilot, littoral patrol, escort, and diver support boats. Commercial applications range from ruggedized design workboats to recreational pleasure craft.
MSHIPCO was founded by the late Mr. Charles W. Robinson (1919-2014) and Mr. Bill Burns, a naval architect. A dedicated American patriot, Mr. Robinson served for three years as U.S. Deputy Secretary of State to Henry Kissinger and as board member to such esteemed Fortune 100 companies as Northrup, Pan Am and Nike. As a pioneering entrepreneur and skilled engineer credited with 44 patents, “Chuck” was instrumental in the design and construction of some of the largest bulk cargo ships ever built including the “Panamax”, the largest ship to transit the Panama Canal. His proprietary design breakthroughs included M-hull technology, which mitigates hull wave generation resulting in significant energy efficiency benefits as well the alleviation of shore erosion. Chuck was a founding member of CBTF Co., formerly DynaYacht, which designed high performance sailing yachts as seen in World Cup races.
